It was all a surprise to me in the end, but we had such a fantastic weekend leading up to it, I feel I should blog about all of it ;-)
Friday night was our regular monthly 'date night' .. We try to go to new restaurants once per month while Emily is off with her mother. Canlis has been on our list for a while, and it was Jonathan's turn to book - so he chose that! It is a very high end/fancy restaurant so we had to get all dressed up ... here we are, at the restaurant.
It was a great meal, and even better company. We really enjoy connecting over dinner :) I feel lucky to have such a great partner!!
Saturday AM we headed off for a mountain bike ride. I wasn't aware of it, but Jonathan was thinking of proposing to me on the ride. I foiled his plans by signing us up for a group ride - we wanted to check out a new trail, and with our Joe and Molly I knew we wouldn't get lost :) We did get pretty muddy though - sorry, no pictures - was too wet/cold :)
Sunday we decided to go for a run at Couger - we love running the trails there. It's a Sunday morning favorite! Usually we share water but Jonathan decided to use his own water belt that day ... I figured he was just thirsty ;-) Little did I know ... Also, as a funny note: I was a bit stressed going into the run - we had so much packing left to do for moving day - but Jonathan really wanted to run in the woods, so off we went! Of course as soon as I was running on the trails for 5 min, my stress levels were much reduced :)
We got to one of our favorite viewpoints, and per tradition, Jonathan took a self portrait of us. He then suggested I try to get one of the view. It was kinda cloudy so that didn't work too well.
While I was trying to get a photo of the view, Jonathan was busy getting the ring ready! Of course I said yes ... here are some after shots! We look a little happier, yeah? :)
